PRE-GAME NOTES

Less than 12 hours after collecting a huge two points in Providence on Friday, the Springfield Falcons returned to work on Saturday morning preparing for the Hartford Wolf Pack.  Once again, the Falcons will play their biggest game of the season when they head to Hartford tonight and that statement will ring true throughout the final eight remaining regular season games.

"Friday was a big victory for us, but we have another tough test on Saturday," said Falcons head coach Kelly Buchberger.  "All we can do is control how hard we play and if we win our games, everything else takes care of itself.  We can't control what other teams do, all we control is how we play."

There is no question that Falcons Nation will be keeping one eye on the scoreboard in Norfolk on Saturday where the Manchester Monarchs play the second of two games in Virginia.  Both the Falcons and Monarchs earned victories on Friday keeping Springfield three points behind Manchester for fourth place in the Atlantic Division.  The Falcons will make their fifth and final visit to the XL Center in Hartford on Saturday and tonight would be the perfect time for Springfield to earn their first win in Hartford this season.  The Falcons are 1-6-0-1 against the Wolf Pack this campaign with Hartford winning the last four straight games against Springfield.

The Falcons didn't skate on Saturday morning as the team filtered in the MassMutual Center for a morning film session and team meeting.  Stay tuned for Saturday's lineup.....
