DUBNYK AND FALCONS BLANK SHARKS
March 22, 2009 - Led by Devan Dubnyk's 32-save effort, the Springfield Falcons blanked the Worcester Sharks 2-0 on Sunday afternoon in front of 2,912 at the MassMutual Center. The Falcons have now gone 3-1-0-2 in their last six games and completed a five-game homestand having earned a point in four of the five games.
Battling back from a tough defeat on Saturday, Springfield's Slava Trukhno opened the scoring on Sunday with a power play goal at 7:34 of the first period giving the Falcons a lead they would hold on to late into the third period. With Worcester applying pressure late in the contest, Colin McDonald added the insurance empty net marker capping off a 2-0 Falcons' victory.
