OILERS RECALL DEFENSEMAN TAYLOR CHORNEY
Springfield, MA – The Springfield Falcons, proud members of the American Hockey League, announced today that defenseman Taylor Chorney has been recalled by their National Hockey League affiliate, the Edmonton Oilers.
Chorney has played in 68 games for the Falcons this season and he has recorded five goals and 16 assists for 21 points and 22 penalty minutes. The 6-foot, 196-pound native of Hastings, Minnesota leads all Springfield defensemen in games played and scoring.
Chorney scored his first AHL/pro goal on December 20 against the Toronto Marlies and made his pro debut on October 11 at Hartford. He was drafted by the Oilers in the second round (36th overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
The Falcons are back in action on Wednesday night when they host the Worcester Sharks in their final home game of the regular season starting at 7 pm.
