FALCONS OPEN CAMP WITH A SCRIMMAGE

September 20, 2009 -  The Springfield Falcons opened their 2009 Training Camp on Sunday afternoon at the MassMutual with Head Coach Rob Daum leading the team through a 40-minute practice, followed by a 40-minute scrimmage.  Team White and Team Black played to a scoreless tie in the scrimmage with goaltenders Bryan Pitton, Aaron Sorochan, Andrew Perugini, and John Hallas all solid between the pipes.

OILERS MAKE CUTS

It was announced during Sunday's practice that the Oilers have assigned Colin McDonald, Geoff Paukovich, Johan Motin, Slava Trukhno and Charles Linglet to the Falcons.

Training Camp Tidbits For Sunday's Skate:

  • Bryan Pitton (G), Bryan Lerg (F), Ryan MacMurchy (F), Jamie Bates (F), Dinos Stamoulis (F), Jordan Bendfeld (D), Jeff Lee (F), R.J. Anderson (D), Kelly Czuy (F), Andrew Perugini (G), and Cody Wild (D) all saw time with the Falcons at some point last year and all are scheduled to take part in Sunday's practice.
  • Adam Henrich will be attending training camp on a tryout.  Henrich previously played in Springfield from 2004-2007 as a member of the Tampa Bay Lightning organization.  
  • The early portion of the Falcons Training Camp will see a total of 31 players, 26 skaters and 5 goaltenders.
  • A total of 22 AHL rookies are scheduled to skate on Sunday.
