FALCONS SHUT OUT IN BRIDGEPORT ON SUNDAY

December 20, 2009 - The Springfield Falcons were shut out by the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Sunday afternoon by a score of 2-0 in Bridgeport, CT. The Sound Tigers used a pair of first period goals on their way to victory.  The Falcons are now off until they travel to Worcester to battle the Sharks on December 26 at the DCU Center.

Bridgeport's Tyler Haskins opened the scoring at 4:05 of the first period giving the Tigers a 1-0 lead.  Bridgeport expanded their lead on the power play at 18:50 of the opening session when Victor Bartley's slap shot beat Falcons goaltender J.P. Levasseur.

Sound Tigers goaltender Scott Munroe recorded the shutout stopping all 22 shots he faced.  Levasseur was also steady stopping 30 of 32 shots on goal.

Bridgeport was 1-6 on the power play, while Springfield was 0-3.
