FALCONS EARN POINT IN NORFOLK
February 20, 2010 - The Springfield Falcons earned a point on Saturday night losing to the Norfolk Admirals 3-2 in a shootout at the Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia. The Falcons concluded their weekend series in Norfolk 0-1-0-1 and will now prepare for Manchester on Wednesday night. The Falcons received two goals from Charles Linglet and a 50-save effort from goaltender Devan Dubnyk on Saturday.
The Falcons opened the scoring at 7:18 of the first period when Linglet scored his 15th goal of the year, but Norfolk tied the score at 1-1 on the power play when Ty Wishart's shot from the point found the back of the net at 8:26 of the opening frame. Dubnyk picked up where he left off on Friday night as he was very solid in goal for Springfield stopping 33 of 34 shots through two periods.
The Falcons had a chance to pull ahead late in the opening frame when Chris Minard ended up on a breakaway, but Norfolk goaltender Dustin Tokarski made the save.
Just 19-seconds into the second period, the Falcons regained their one-goal lead when Linglet scored his second goal of the game giving Springfield a 2-1 advantage through 40 minutes..
Leading by one into the third period, the Falcons saw their lead disappear when Brandon Bochenski scored at 2:50 evening the score at 2-2. After a scoreless overtime, Minard opened the scoring in the shootout, but Mark Parrish answered right back for Norfolk. The shootout was even after five rounds and in the sixth round, Norfolk's Juraj Simek tallied the game-winner.

With the Falcons spending a few days in Norfolk, players and staff have had a chance to view many of the historic sites of the world's largest Naval Base. The hotel the team was staying at is located right along the water and in view of the National Maritime Center.
