FALCONS BEAT WOLF PACK 2-1 IN OT

February 26, 2010 - The Springfield Falcons rallied to beat the Hartford Wolf Pack in overtime Friday night by a score of 2-1 at the XL Center in Hartford, CT.  Springfield's Rob Hisey scored the game-winner, while Falcons goaltender Devan Dubnyk made 32 saves in the winning effort.  The Falcons next play in Syracuse on Saturday night starting at 7:30 pm.

Trailing 1-0 entering the third period, the Falcons started their comeback in the final frame when Ryan O'Marra evened the score with his 10th goal of the year sending the contest to overtime.  Just 12-seconds into the extra session, Hisey one-timed a pass from Charles Linglet just inside the Hartford blueline that beat Wolf Pack goaltender Matt Zaba.

After the scoreless first period, Hartford took a 1-0 lead at 7:36 of the second period when Ryan Garlock scored his fourth goal of the year.  Falcons goaltender Devan Dubnyk has stopped 27 of 28 shots through 40 minutes.

Game Night Notes...

Game Setup: The I-91 rivals are meeting for the 6th time this season and 3rd in the Connecticut capital. The Falcons are 2-2-1-0 against the Wolf Pack this season. In the last meeting on January 23 in Springfield Chris Minard scored in overtime to give the Falcons 2 points. In that game, Springfield had trouble trying to beat Hartford starter Chad Johnson until Charles Linglet tied the game late in the third period.

The Pack are currently in 7th place in the Atlantic Division, 11 points ahead of the Falcons who sit in 8th. In their last game on Sunday, Hartford fell to their instate rivals, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, by a 2-1 score. The Pack are 3-6-1-0 in their last ten games.

The Falcons are coming off a 5-2 loss Wednesday night in the Granite State against the Manchester Monarchs. In their last ten, the Falcons have managed only 2 wins and earned 6 of a possible 20 points.

Wolf Pack Player Movement Recap

Earlier today, Andres Ambuhl rejoined the Pack after participating in 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver for Switzerland. The Swiss team played in the group consisting of Norway, Canada and the United States. The Swiss went 1-2 and beat Belarus in the Qualification round before being beaten 2-0 by the USA in the Quarterfinal round. In the final rankings Switzerland finished 8th in the tournament that concludes on Sunday.

In addition to Ambuhl, the Wolf Pack added goalie Chad Johnson who was reassigned by their parent club the New York Rangers. Johnson has 14 wins in his 30 appearances this season. Johnson is 12th in the league with a 2.45 goals against average.
