FALCONS SIGN TOMMY GOEBEL TO ATO CONTRACT

FALCONS SIGN TOMMY GOEBEL TO ATO CONTRACT
--Les Reaney Reassigned To The Stockton Thunder--

Springfield, MA – The Springfield Falcons, proud members of the American Hockey League, announced today that they have signed forward Tommy Goebel to an Amateur Tryout Agreement (ATO).  The Falcons also announced they have reassigned forward Les Reaney to their ECHL affiliate, the Stockton Thunder.

Goebel recently completed his collegiate career with Ohio State University where he led the team in scoring during his senior campaign collecting 21 goals and 15 assists for 36 points in 39 games.  The 5-foot-8, 170-pound native of Parma, Ohio spent the last two seasons with Ohio State after transferring from Michigan State University following the 2004-05 campaign.  Goebel collected 33 goals and 29 assists for 62 points in 71 career games with Ohio State.  In two seasons with Michigan State, he registered 21 goals and 32 assists for 53 points in 76 games.

Reaney signed a standard American Hockey League contract with the Falcons back on February 16 and hasn’t appeared in a game since joining Springfield.  Reaney is beginning his pro career after spending the last three seasons with Niagara University.  In 25 games with Niagara this season, the 6-foot-2, 225-pound native of Ceylon, Saskatchewan tallied five goals and 10 assists for 15 points in 25 games.  Reaney averaged a point-a-game last season with Niagara collecting 16 goals and 28 assists for 44 points in 37 games ranking third on the team in scoring last year.
