FALCONS ADD MOORHOUSE TO STAFF
Springfield, MA – The Springfield Falcons, proud members of the American Hockey League, announced today they have hired Don Moorhouse as their new Director of Strategic Sales.
“We are very excited to have Don join our staff as our Director of Strategic Sales,” said Falcons President and General Manager Bruce Landon. “He is a proven sales professional with an outstanding background. He will be working on driving revenue for the Falcons through creative sales strategies, which involve both tickets and corporate partnerships.”
Moorhouse joins the Falcons staff after most recently holding a position of Director of Strategic Sales and Marketing for WEEI radio. Moorhouse is a long-time member of the local media having hosted daily radio programs on WRNX, 100.9 FM for six years. The Springfield native is also in his 18th year as a columnist and entertainment writer for the Springfield Republican.
“I would like to thank Charlie Pompea and Bruce Landon, first for their stewardship of this storied franchise, and second, for allowing me to be a part of it,” said Moorhouse. “I am honored to be joining what is considered one of the top organizations in minor league hockey at a time when the interest in the team and the game is growing. I watched my first professional hockey game in what is now the MassMutual Center when I was 7-years old. It is a great building for hockey, in a community with an incredible hockey history, occupied by people who have a passion for the city and the game. I can’t wait to get started.”
Moorhouse is a lifelong resident of Western MA and graduate of American International College in Springfield where he served as an assistant coach of the 1989-90 men’s ice hockey ECAC championship team.
After serving 12 years as a local youth hockey coach, Moorhouse launched the Hockey Project in 2008. The Hockey Project is a non-profit organization that takes at risk kids in the city of Springfield and brings them on the ice, teaching life skills and promoting academic achievement through the sport of hockey.
Moorhouse currently resides in Westfield, MA with his wife Katie and their three sons.
