SCREECH VISITS BLUE SOX AND RED SOX

August 5, 2011 – The Springfield Falcons' official mascot, "Screech," was busy this week attending a pair of events that were focused on tornado relief efforts throughout Western MA. Screech attended the Holyoke Blue Sox game on Monday, August 1 where he took part in "Mascot Night," followed by a trip to Fenway Park to be part of "Western MA Night" in Boston. As part of the festivities at Fenway Park, Screech took photos with both volunteers and victims of the Western MA Tornado Relief Fund, who were being honored before the Boston Red Sox and Cleveland Indians game on Wednesday, August 3.
The Falcons have been very active with their tornado relief efforts this summer, including a recent jersey auction that generated more than $5,000.00 that will be donated towards tornado relief efforts.

On June 3, the Falcons made a $2,500 donation to the Pioneer Valley Chapter of the Red Cross to assist those people affected by the tornado that hit Western Massachusetts on June 1. Falcons’ majority owner, Charlie Pompea, also made a personal donation of $5,000 to the Pioneer Valley Chapter of the Red Cross to benefit tornado relief efforts.
On June 4, the Falcons set up a drop off area in front of their offices on Falcons Way, allowing individuals to make donations of clothing, blankets or cash to benefit multiple agencies in the tornado relief efforts. Individuals who made a donation at the Falcons’ drop off area received a ticket voucher good for any Sunday home game during the 2011-12 Falcons’ season. The Falcons also collected another $1,250 for the Red Cross on June 4.
The Falcons open up their 2011-12 regular season in early October and they continue to offer a variety of affordable season ticket packages for the 2011-2012 campaign. Ticket plans range from all 38 home games to a selection of mini plans including 22 and 14 game plans. The Falcons also offer Flex Packs in denominations of 44 games and 12 games.
