FALCONS RAISE MONEY FOR SHRINERS HOSPITAL AT CAR SHOW

Springfield, MA – The Springfield Falcons, proud members of the American Hockey League, helped raise money for Shriners Hospital on Sunday, August 14 participating in the 27th annual Tuned by Tuna Car Show at Smith and Wesson in Springfield.  The Falcons partnered with Genden Auto Parts and CarQuest for the event, in which proceeds benefitted the Shriners Hospital for Children in Springfield.

As part of the festivities, the Falcons joined Genden Auto Parts in hosting a hospitality tent, in which items were given to the first 200 cars that entered the competition as part of the car show. Individuals attending could also stop by the tent and receive free promotional items from the Falcons, a chance to win an autographed Falcons’ stick, free popcorn, free promotional items from CarQuest, and bounce house opportunities for the kids.  One of the more popular attractions was a chance for one lucky youngster to win a ride with the Falcons’ mascot, “Screech,” in the three mile parade from Smith and Wesson to Shriners Hospital.

The parade to Shriners continues to be a unique experience for everyone involved in this special event as it gives the children at Shriners Hospital an opportunity to see their favorite local mascots, as well as a chance to see the hundreds of vintage cars that take part in the car show.

Screech also took part in a special Gyro Gym promotion during the afternoon.  For every minute Screech stayed on the Gyro Gym apparatus, monies were generated that were also donated to the Shriners Hospital.  CLICK HERE FOR VIDEO
