COLUMBUS PROSPECTS BEAT MINNESOTA 3-1
Traverse City, Michigan – The Columbus Blue Jackets improved their record to 2-1 at the 2011 Traverse City Prospect Tournament beating the Minnesota Wild 3-1 on Tuesday night. The Blue Jackets received goals from Mike Thomas, Michael Chaput and Tyler Johnson, while goaltender Paul Dainton turned aside 26 of the 27 shots he faced.
“This was a very tough win tonight,” said Springfield head coach Rob Riley, who along with assistant coaches Brad Larsen and Nolan Pratt, is leading the Blue Jackets team behind the bench during the tournament. “Dainton was solid in goal, as were Theo Ruth, Dalton Prout, David Savard and Cody Goloubef on defense. This was really a night led by team defense and strong penalty killing.”
