FALCONS CONCLUDE PRESEASON SCHEDULE
Springfield, MA - The Springfield Falcons concluded their 2011 preseason schedule on Saturday night at the MassMutual Center against the Providence Bruins, which also concluded a week-long training camp that enabled the coaching staff a chance to evaluate players who the Falcons may need on a call-up basis during the regular season.
Now the page is turned towards the regular season, which starts for the Falcons on Friday, October 7 in Manchester. The Falcons roster has changed on a regular basis over the last 48 hours and Saturday was no different as the Columbus Blue Jackets assisgned forward Tomas Kubalik and defenseman John Moore to Springfield. Forward Martin St. Pierre and defenseman Nick Holden were placed on waivers for the purposes of being assigned to Springfield. In addition, forward Alexandre Giroux was also placed on waivers.

Following Saturday's game against Providence, five players were released from their training camp tryouts including: Obi Aduba, Phil Ginand, Ryan Palmer, Joe Grimaldi, Wade Poplawski.
The Falcons will not practice on Sunday and will return to practice on Monday at the MassMutual Center at 10 am.
