SCREECH MAKES SPECIAL STOP IN CHICOPEE

January 23, 2012 - The Springfield Falcons and their team mascot "Screech" were a guest at Bowe School in Chicopee on Monday as part of a special sports theme day with the youngsters. Screech handed out some free items for the kids at the school and also helped promote an annual Chicopee night coming up in February at a Falcons home game.
The Falcons will host their annual city of Chicopee night at the MassMutual Center on Saturday, February 4 with a special high school game before the Falcons contest featuring Chicopee High School and Chicopee Comp High School going head-to-head. Game time for the high school contest is 4 pm and tickets for the Falcons game are also valid for entrance to the high school contest. The Falcons host the Norfolk Admirals at 7 pm the same evening. The Hampden Charter School of Science located in Chicopee will be singing the National Anthem on February 4 as well.

Also on Monday, the Falcons staff and Screech talked to youngsters about the importance of reading and added incentives to a special reading program that will be taking place over the next four weeks.
Chicopee Night has become an annual event at Falcons home games with schools throughout the city receiving a special ticket discount leading up to the evening. Anyone interested in more information regarding this special event can contact the Falcons Office at 413-739-GOAL.
