FALCONS FALL TO SOUND TIGERS 3-2
April 4, 2012 - The Springfield Falcons rallied from a two-goal deficit in the third period, but Bridgeport's David Ullstrom scored at 15:15 of the third period breaking a 2-2 tie and handing the Falcons a 3-2 setback at the Webster Bank Arena. The Falcons are 33-33-3-3 through 72 games as they head into their final road trip of the regular season this weekend in St. John's Newfoundland.
Trailing 2-0 entering the third period, the Falcons rallied back in the final frame and evened the score. Alexandre Giroux converted on the power play just 20 seconds into the third period cutting the Falcons deficit to 2-1, followed by Wade MacLeod converting at 6:04 of third period evening the score at 2-2.
The Falcons carried the play in the third period and had multiple scoring chances on Bridgeport goaltender Kevin Poulin in the final 10 minutes of play to find the go-ahead goal.
The Sound Tigers built a 2-0 first period lead when John Persson scored at 2:36 of the opening frame, followed by Tony Romano converting on the power play at 12:44.
Rookie Boone Jenner made his pro debut on Wednesday and wore the #15. Jenner joined the Falcons on Tuesday after completing his junior season with the Oshawa Generals.

PREGAME NOTES - The Falcons and Sound Tigers will take part in a special kids day game at the Webster Bank Arena. The Falcons will be looking for their third straight win and a victory would help keep their playoff hopes alive.
The Falcons had rookie Boone Jenner join the team on Tuesday after he recently concluded his junior season with the Oshawa Generals. Jenner led the Generals in playoff scoring and he was selected by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the second round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
Nick Drazenovic scored twice on March 31 in a 3-1 win over Providence giving him seven goals in his last nine games.
Matt Calvert was on an eight-game scoring streak collecting four goals and six assists before missing the contest on April 1 at Worcester due to injury.
The Falcons veterans stepped up this past weekend in leading the Falcons to back to back wins on Saturday and Sunday. Nick Drazenovic led the offense with two goals in a 3-1 win on Saturday. Dane Byers collected a pair of assists on Saturday against Providence. Andrew Joudrey scored two goals, including the game-winner on Sunday at Worcester. Alexandre Giroux scored the game-tying on April 1 at Worcester. Manny Legace stopped 52 of 55 shots in back to back wins over Providence on Saturday and Worcester on Sunday.
Martin St. Pierre continues to lead the Falcons in scoring with 10 goals and 51 assists for 61 points in 69 games. St. Pierre is 10th in the league in scoring and 3rd in assists. He is also second on the Falcons in games played with 69.
Brent Regner continues to lead the Falcons in games played with 70 and he also leads all Springfield blueliners in scoring with two goals and 27 assists for 29 points. Regner is second on the Falcons team in assists this year.
