BLUE JACKETS ANNOUNCE MULTIPLE TRANSACTIONS

 COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned forwards Cam Atkinson and Maksim Mayorov to the Springfield Falcons, club Executive Vice President and General Manager Scott Howson announced today. The Columbus Blue Jackets also announced that they have assigned defenseman Dalton Prout and forward Ryan Russell to the Springfield Falcons.

Additionally, the Columbus Blue Jackets have signed forward Cody Bass to a one-year, two-way National Hockey League-American Hockey League contract, club Executive Vice President and General Manager Scott Howson announced today. Bass, 24, registered one assist and 32 penalty minutes in 14 games with the Blue Jackets in 2011-12 after signing with the club as a free agent on July 13, 2011. He added 5-6-11 and 43 penalty minutes in 23 games with the Falcons. In 2010-11, he registered 6-9-15 and had 111 penalty minutes in 58 games for the AHL’s Binghamton Senators, and was awarded the Yanick Dupré Memorial Award as the AHL’s Man of the Year. He added 2-2-4 and 24 penalty minutes in 18 playoff games to help Binghamton win the Calder Cup. A native of Owen Sound, Ontario, Bass made his NHL debut against Atlanta on December 15, 2007 and has tallied 2-2-4 and 34 penalty minutes in 34 career NHL games with Ottawa. In 194 career AHL games with Binghamton and Springfield, he has totaled 21-29-50 and 359 penalty minutes. Prior to his professional career, he notched 40-84-124 and 371 penalty minutes in 247 career OHL games withMississauga and Saginaw.
