CHECKING IN WITH GREG AMADIO
Greg Amadio stopped by falconsahl.com recently for a quick update on his summer and his upcoming plans...check it out:
MM: Hey Ammo, what have you been up to since the season ended?
GA: After the season ended, I took about 3 weeks off after the season ended to let my body rest and repair. The season is a real grind and takes a toll. After driving back to Sault Ste. Marie, myself along with six guys I grew up with went on a golf weekend in Petoskey, Michigan. It was a great time. I also went on another golf weekend with my dad and a bunch of his retired buddies at a resort called The Garlands in Gaylord, MI. The two trips were a good way to rest and relax in early May before I got back into working out.
MM: Take us through some of your offseason workouts and what you do to prepare for the coming season.
GA: My offseason workouts involve lifting weights, running, biking and track work. I do more running and speed training and biking than weights because of my size. The game gets younger and faster every year so I need to keep pace. My main focus for this summer is to get lighter and quicker.
MM: What do you like to do outside of hockey?
GA: Some of my favorite hobbies are golfing, mountain biking and spending as much time as possible with my family and my friends.
MM: Any fun plans for the summer outside of training?
GA: I don't really having anything too excited planned outside of training, just a lot of weddings. I'm at the age now where a lot of friends and family (cousins) are getting married.
MM: What are you most looking forward to for next season?
GA: I'm really looking forward to returning to Springfield to win a lot of hockey games. And have a lot of fun doing it.
MM: Any last thoughts before you sign off?
GA: Just looking forward to getting back at it for next year. We ended the year on a really good run and I'm excited to get back, see the fans, and keep it going next year.
