CHECKING IN WITH PAUL DAINTON
Paul Dainton stopped by FalconsAHL.com to give a quick update about his summer, talk about his golf game, and chat a little bit about next year. Check it out:
MM: What have you been up to since the season ended?
PD: When the season ended, I went home to Toronto for a couple of weeks to help my parents move into their new house. I attended my godson's baptism, and i have been in Beverly, Mass. ever since. I teach hockey to little goaltenders at GDS Goaltending and also through ProAmbitions Hockey.
MM: Talk a little about your offseason workouts and what you do to prepare for the coming season.
PD: For the most part I work out on my own in the summer, and spend a lot of time doing yoga. I also have been skating three times a week with my goalie coach, Mike Buckley.
MM: What are some of your favorite non-hockey hobbies?
PD: Outside of hockey/training and work, I bought a road bike so I can bike to the gym. And I try to spend as much time as I can at the beach. I golfed once this summer and golfed a 117 after 18 holes, so that was about all the golfing I need.
MM: Any fun plans for the summer outside of training?
PD: I'm looking forward to spending some time camping this summer and floating down the Saco River. I have tried surfing a couple of times, so maybe try to do a surf trip somewhere.
MM: What are you looking forward to for next year?
PD: I'm excited to get the season going and to start off strong. The community deserves a winning season and a good playoff push by the Falcons, so hopefully I get the opportunity to be a difference maker. Also getting new gear is pretty cool too.
