2008-09 Season:  Enters his second full season of pro hockey.
2007-08 Season: Made his Falcons debut on October 7, 2007 against Manchester.  Collected 11 goals and nine assists for 20 points in 24 games with the Falcons’ ECHL affiliate, the Stockton Thunder.  Was named an ECHL All-Star on December 21, 2007.  Scored his first goal as a member of the Falcons on January 21, 2008 against Worcester.

Career Notes:  Split the 2006-07 season between the Erie Otters and Saginaw Spirit of the Ontario Hockey League.  Scored his first goal with the Spirit on November 24, 2006 against the London Knights. Scored the opening goal and notched an assist on the game-winning goal to receive Team OHL Player of the Game honors in the 2006 ADT Canada-Russia Challenge.  Won a gold medal with Team Canada at the 2007 World Junior Championships.  Had six game-winning goals with the Spirit. 
    
Finished his junior career with 94 goals and 129 assists for 223 points in 234 career games.  Born in Tokyo, Japan before moving to Canada when he was one-year old.  Selected to the 2006 OHL All Star Classic and helped Team Canada win a gold medal in the 2006 World Junior Championships.  Member of the 2004 Ontario Under-17 Championship Team and both the 2004 and 2005 Under-18 World Junior Championship Team. Scored his 150th OHL point on January 28, 2006 against the Peterborough Petes.  Erie's nominee for the William Hanley Trophy as the Most Sportsmanlike Player in the OHL in 2004-05, and was rated as the best on faceoffs in the 2005-06 OHL Western Conference Coaches Poll.  Also played in the 2004 and 2005 ADT Challenge.  Led the Otters in assists in 2005-06 with 50 helpers.  Was Erie's captain before being traded to Saginaw.

DRAFTED: New York Islanders round one (15th overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
ACQUIRED: On February 27, 2007 by the Edmonton Oilers from the New York Islanders along with Robert Nilsson and a first round selection in 2007 in exchange for Ryan Smyth.
