OFFICIAL BLOG OF COLIN MCDONALD - SECOND EDITION

#18 Colin McDonald will be checking in with Falconsahl.com on a regular basis throughout the Spring and Summer as he keeps fans updated with his off-season workouts and adventures.  The following is McDonald's second edition of his official blog on Falconsahl.com.

"What's Up With Colin - Colin McDonald's Official Blog - Second Edition"

As I mentioned last week, this past weekend I was in Boston with my family for my brother’s graduation.  The ceremony was only about two hours long which was about half as long as my graduation.  I guess when you only have to read 450 names for Babson’s graduation as opposed to 1,000 for my senior class at Providence College, it should be much shorter.  Kyle is leaving with a finance degree, but his passion is still basketball.  He is currently working towards a contract to play professionally in Europe next year.

This week was spent much like every other week so far this summer; workout in the morning, relax or do errands in the afternoon, and watch the Red Sox at night.  However, I began skating this week for the first time since the end of our season.  Edmonton is having their Prospects camp beginning June 1 so this week and next I’ve added on-ice workouts to get ready.  Hockey seems to be unique from any other sport in that no matter how hard you train off-ice, only on-ice workouts truly get you in on-ice condition.

As I am sure many of you watched or at least heard, the Red Sox had a no-hitter on Monday night.  As soon as the no-hitter was official, I made sure to let all my Yankee friends know what had just happened.  The first text I sent was to my good friend Tim Sestito.  I actually almost felt bad for sending that text because of how bad the Yankees are struggling thus far.  However, I thought back to when the Yankees were always atop the AL East and how often Yankee fans would give it to me so now I’m simply returning the favor.  The rubbing it in did not go as planned because Tito has Lester on his fantasy team so he was happy with Lester’s performance.

For Memorial Day weekend I am going to Cape Cod.  I actually have never been to the Cape, but I’ve heard good things so I am pretty excited.  I don’t think the weather will be ideal beach weather but nonetheless I’m looking forward to relax for a couple days.

I hope everyone has a safe and fun Memorial Day weekend and I will be back next week!

Colin
