GOALTENDER ANTON FORSBERG REASSIGNED TO SPRINGFIELD

The Springfield Falcons announced Thursday that the Columbus Blue Jackets, the team’s NHL affiliate, have reassigned goaltender Anton Forsberg to the team from Modo Hockey Ornskoldsvik of the Swedish Hockey League.
 
Forsberg, 21, was the Blue Jackets’ seventh-round selection (188th overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. The Harnosand, Sweden native has appeared in 22 games for Modo Hockey Ornskolsvik this season, earning 10 victories with a 2.44 goals-against average, .919 save percentage and one shutout. Forsberg also played in 15 games for Modo in 2011-12, recording a 3.15 goals-against average.
 
In 41 games for Sodertalje SK of the Swedish 1st Division in 2012-13, the 6-foot-2, 176-pound netminder went 26-14-0 with a 2.22 goals-against average and three shutouts.
 
The Falcons return to action Friday, March 21 when they visit the Worcester Sharks at the DCU Center. The team is back at the MassMutual Center Saturday, March 22 to host the Manchester Monarchs at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 23 to host the St. John’s IceCaps at 3:00 p.m.
