The Springfield Falcons announced Monday that forward T.J. Tynan has been signed to an amateur tryout agreement (ATO).

Tynan, 22, was a third-round selection (66th overall) of the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2011. The Orland Park, Illinois native spent the past four seasons with the University of Notre Dame, totaling 161 points (54 goals, 107 assists) and 132 penalty minutes in 164 games.

As a freshman in 2010-11, Tynan ranked third in points (54), fourth in goals (23) and fourth in assists (31) among all CCHA players. Leading the team in scoring three out of the four years he played there, the 5-foot-8, 165-pound centerman helped the Fighting Irish win the conference title in 2012-13, earning MVP honors at the CCHA Tournament. Notre Dame was eliminated from the 2014 national title contention last weekend, suffering a 4-3 overtime loss to St. Cloud State University in the NCAA West Regionals.

The Falcons are back in action at the MassMutual Center Friday, April 11 to host the Portland and Saturday, April 12 versus the Hershey Bears. Both games begin at 7:00 p.m.
