Student Prince Cafe and Fort Restaurant present Throwback Thursday: Norm Milley
Norm Milley played two seasons with the Springfield Falcons, appearing in 126 games and totaling 108 points, 45 goals, 63 assists and 80 penalty minutes.
Milley, drafted in the second round of the 1998 NHL Draft by the Buffalo Sabres, began his pro career with the AHL’s Rochester Americans in 2000-01. After five seasons in the Sabres’ organization, during which he made 15 appearances with Buffalo, the 6-foot, 195-pound forward moved on to the Falcons, signing with the Tampa Bay Lightning.
In 2005-06, Milley finished third on the team in points (48), despite playing only 53 games. The next season, he finished second on the team with 60 points (26 goals, 34 assists) in 73 games. Only Eric Healey had more points (75) for the Falcons that season.
While with the Falcons, Milley made 14 appearances with the NHL’s Lightning, registering three points (two goals, one assists), four penalty minutes and a -2 rating.
After his time in Springfield, Milley played one season with the Norfolk Admirals before choosing to play abroad with the Wolfsburg Grizzly Adams of the Deutsche Eishockey League in Germany. The Toronto native is currently playing his sixth season with Wolfsburg.
