UPCOMING COMMUNITY EVENTS

The Springfield Falcons announced Wednesday the team’s participation in a number of community events over the next month. The Falcons will take part in each of the following events in the greater-Springfield area.
 
Zombiefest 2013:
Location: Stearns Square to Court Square
Date/Time: Saturday, October 19, 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Description: The Springfield Zombiefest 2013 “Zombie Walk” will begin at Stearns Square (off of Worthington St./Dwight St. intersection) at 3:00 p.m. and conclude at Court Square (off of Court St./Main St. intersection) at 4:00 p.m., including hundreds of people dressed as zombies. The Falcons’ mascot Screech will participate in the walk and be present for the festivities at Court Square. The team will have a table and host a ladder game at the event, which features live music and a costume contest.
 
Pump for Pride Stations & Stores:
Location: 6 N. Westfield Street, Agawam, MA
Date/Time: Tuesday, October 22, 4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Description: A couple of the Falcons players will be on site and pumping gas for customers at the participating Pride station. All the tips raised by the players will go to the Springfield Falcons Charitable Foundation in support of the greater-Springfield community.
 
Mall-O-Ween Extravaganza:
Location: Eastfield Mall – 1655 Boston Road, Springfield, MA
Date/Time: Tuesday, October 22, 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Description: The Eastfield Mall’s Mall-O-Ween Extravaganza will feature a costume contest with deluxe prizes for all age groups and free trick-or-treating. Members of the Falcons staff and team mascot Screech will be on hand to greet fans, hand out candy and offer up some great prizes as part of the costume contest!
 
MassMutual Center Blood Drive:
Location: MassMutual Center – 1277 Main Street, Springfield, MA
Date/Time: Tuesday, October 29, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Description: In conjunction with the American Red Cross, the MassMutual Center will host a blood drive and offer a number of great prizes to those who donate, including a free ticket voucher to the Falcons’ game versus the Albany Devils Friday, November 22 (one per donor). Free parking will be available to all donors at the Civic Center Garage, located across from the MassMutual Center. To schedule an appointment to donate, click here.
 
Celebrity Servers at Nadim’s:
Location: Nadim’s Downtown Mediterranean Grill (1390 Main Street, Springfield, MA) 
Date/Time: Thursday, November 7, 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Description: The Falcons will hold a celebrity server event at Nadim’s Downtown Mediterranean Grill – one of Springfield’s finest restaurants, offering authentic Mediterranean cuisine served in an elegant, relaxed atmosphere – that is open to the public. The event is a great way for fans to meet players in a more personal setting, as four Falcons will serve patrons at tables and at the bar, sign autographs and take pictures with fans, and give away raffle prizes. Nadim’s - located just one block from the MassMutual Center – now offers valet parking and is a great place to go before Falcons home games.
 
Springfield Boys & Girls Club 13th Annual Festival of Trees:
Location: Tower Square (1500 Main Street, Springfield, MA) 
Date/Time: Saturday, November 29 – Sunday, December 15; Wed: 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.; Thu – Sat: 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.; Sun: 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Description: The Falcons will decorate and donate a Christmas tree to the Springfield Boys and Girls Club Festival of Trees. The tree will be on display from November 29 until December 15, at which point the tree will be raffled off to a lucky winner. All the money earned from the raffle goes to benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Springfield.
